They have a distinctive nature. The humans of Uttarakuru surpass the Gods of the Thirty-Three and the humans of India in these three particulars.
The Gods of the Thirty-Three surpass the humans of Uttarakuru and India in three particulars. What three? Divine life span, beauty, and happiness. The Gods of the Thirty-Three surpass the humans of Uttarakuru and India in these three particulars.
The humans of India surpass the humans of Uttarakuru and the Gods of the Thirty-Three in three particulars. What three? Bravery, mindfulness, and the spiritual life is lived here. The humans of India surpass the humans of Uttarakuru and the Gods of the Thirty-Three in these three particulars.”
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย มนุษย์ชาวอุตรกุรุทวีป ประเสริฐกว่าเทวดาชั้นดาวดึงส์ และมนุษย์ชาวชมพูทวีป ด้วยฐานะ ๓ ประการ ๓ ประการอะไรบ้าง คือ
๑) ไม่มีความเห็นแก่ตัว (อมมา)
๒) ไม่มีความหวงแหน (อปริคฺคหา)
๓) มีอายุแน่นอน (นิยตายุกา)
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย มนุษย์ชาวอุตรกุรุทวีป ประเสริฐกว่าเทวดาชั้นดาวดึงส์ และมนุษย์ชาวชมพูทวีป ด้วยฐานะ ๓ ประการเหล่านี้แล.
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย เทวดาชั้นดาวดึงส์ ประเสริฐกว่ามนุษย์ชาวอุตรกุรุทวีป และมนุษย์ชาวชมพูทวีป ด้วยฐานะ ๓ ประการ ๓ ประการอะไรบ้าง คือ
๑) อายุอันเป็นทิพย์
๒) วรรณะอันเป็นทิพย์
๓) สุขอันเป็นทิพย์
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย เทวดาชั้นดาวดึงส์ ประเสริฐกว่ามนุษย์ชาวอุตรกุรุทวีป และมนุษย์ชาวชมพูทวีป ด้วยฐานะ ๓ ประการเหล่านี้แล.
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย มนุษย์ชาวชมพูทวีป ประเสริฐกว่ามนุษย์ชาวอุตรกุรุทวีป และเทวดาชั้นดาวดึงส์ ด้วยฐานะ ๓ ประการ ๓ ประการอะไรบ้าง คือ
๑) เป็นผู้แกล้วกล้า
๒) เป็นผู้มีสติ
๓) เป็นผู้อยู่ประพฤติพรหมจรรย์อันยอดเยี่ยม
