(5) One first presents the newly harvested crops and fruits to the virtuous ones. These are the five timely gifts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the proper time, those wise,<br \/>\ncharitable, and generous folk<br \/>\ngive a timely gift to the noble ones,<br \/>\nwho are stable and upright;<br \/>\ngiven with a clear mind,<br \/>\none\u2019s offering is vast.<\/p>\n<p>Those who rejoice in such deeds<br \/>\nor who provide\u00a0other\u00a0service<br \/>\ndo not miss out on the offering;<br \/>\nthey too partake of the merit.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, with a non-regressing mind,<br \/>\none should give a gift where it yields great fruit.<br \/>\nMerits are the support of living
