That\u2019s why he\u2019s called Maghav\u0101.<\/p>\n<p>In a former life, when Sakka was a human being, he was first to give gifts. That\u2019s why he\u2019s called Purindada, the Firstgiver.<\/p>\n<p>In a former life, when Sakka was a human being, he gave gifts ably. That\u2019s why he\u2019s called Sakka the Able.<\/p>\n<p>In a former life, when Sakka was a human being, he gave the gift of a guest house. And it was because of undertaking these that he achieved the status of Sakka.\u00a0What seven?<\/p>\n<p>As long as I live, may I support my parents.\u00a0As long as I live, may I honor the elders in the family.\u00a0As long as I live, may I speak gently.\u00a0As long as I live, may I not speak divisively.\u00a0As long as I live, may I live at home rid of the stain of stinginess, freely generous, open-handed, loving to let go, committed to charity, loving to give and to share.\u00a0As long as I live, may I speak the truth.\u00a0As long as I live, may I be free of anger, or should anger arise, may I quickly get rid of it.<\/p>\n<p>In a former life, when Sakka was a human being, he undertook seven vows. What were the seven vows?<\/p>\n<p>(1) \u201c\u2018As long as I live may I support my parents.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>(2) \u201c\u2018As long as I live may I respect the family elders.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>(3) \u201c\u2018As long as I live may I speak gently.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>(4) \u201c\u2018As long as I live may I not speak divisively.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>(5) \u201c\u2018As long as I live may I dwell at home with
