companions with bodily kindness \u2026\u00a0verbal kindness \u2026\u00a0and mental kindness both in public and in private, they can expect growth, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>As long as the mendicants share without reservation any material possessions they have gained by legitimate means, even the food placed in the alms-bowl, using them in common with their ethical spiritual companions, they can expect growth, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>As long as the mendicants live according to the precepts shared with their spiritual companions, both in public and in private\u2014such precepts as are unbroken, impeccable, spotless, and unmarred, liberating, praised by sensible people, not mistaken, and leading to immersion\u2014they can expect growth, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>As long as the mendicants live according to the view shared with their spiritual companions, both in public and in private\u2014the view that is noble and emancipating, and leads one who practices it to the complete end of suffering\u2014they can expect growth, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>As long as these six principles that prevent decline last among the mendicants, and as long as the mendicants are seen following them, they well, reverend Sir,\u201d those monks replied to the Gracious One, and the Gracious One said this:<\/p>\n<p>1) \u201cFor as long, monks, as the monks with friendly actions by way of the body will serve\u00a0their\u00a0fellow celibates, both in public and in private, surely growth, monks, is to be expected for the monks, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>2) For as long, monks, as the monks with friendly actions by way of speech will serve\u00a0their\u00a0fellow celibates, both in public and in private, surely growth, monks, is to be expected for the monks, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>3) For as long, monks, as the monks with friendly actions by way of the mind will serve\u00a0their\u00a0fellow celibates, both in public and in private, surely growth, monks, is to be expected for the monks, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>4) For as long, monks, as the monks\u00a0in regard to\u00a0those righteous gains, received in accordance with the Teaching\u2014whatever amount has been received in the bowl\u2014will divide and share such gains with those who are virtuous, fellow celibates, and share\u00a0them\u00a0in common, surely growth, monks, is to be expected for the monks, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>5) For as long, monks, as the monks\u00a0are endowed with\u00a0those virtues which are unbroken, faultless, unspotted, unblemished, productive of freedom, praised by the wise, not clung to, leading to concentration,\u00a0and\u00a0will live endowed with virtue amongst their fellow celibates who\u00a0themselves\u00a0possess such virtue, both in public and in private, surely growth, monks, is to be expected for the monks, not decline.<\/p>\n<p>6) For as long, monks, as the monks\u00a0are endowed with\u00a0that which is Ariyan View, which leads out, which leads to the complete destruction of suffering for one who acts thus,\u00a0and\u00a0will live endowed with\u00a0Right\u00a0View amongst those who\u00a0themselves\u00a0possess such\u00a0Right\u00a0View, both in
